Holista offers a distinctly different model for physical therapy management that delivers several competitive advantages over the traditional fee-for-service approach. While fee-for-service therapy is characterized by extensive “churning” of visits and excessive unit billing, under our model providers are incented to achieve the clinical outcome efficiently.

Our per-episode model aligns the incentives of all parties for appropriate care:

• Providers are compensated for efficient care rather than a higher volume of services.
• Patients receive a customized treatment plan that includes more early home care and follow up rather than endless office visits.
• Therapists find it easy to adapt, and are no longer caught between utilization review limits and patient expectations.

With medical necessity decisions left to providers, there are very few denials, complaints and appeals. Our model helps to significantly reduce our clients’ benefit cost.
